Monitor infirm relatives
Checking on elderly or infirm family members can often be time-consuming and costly. Using a Y-cam means you can check instantly whether relatives are in need of assistance 24 hours a day.
Y-cam cameras feature a discrete design and do not look out of place when installed in a home environment. In addition to this the camera can operate wirelessly without network cabling, thus minimizing the installation work required and keeping the system unobtrusive or out of sight.
When set up with an internet router, the Y-cam can be viewed from across the internet easily. The camera also includes a dynamic DNS client, making it easier to access if your internet connection uses a dynamic IP address.
You may also wish to also use this camera as part of a recording application so that should anyone attempt to gain unauthorized access, you will have a record which you can hand to the local police. Should there be no computer to hand you can record over the internet using the included Multi-live surveillance software on a remote PC, or set up an event trigger to transfer images through FTP when motion is detected. Alternatively, using the Y-cam SD cameras you can store images locally on a Micro SD card without the need for external recording equipment.
The built-in microphone and audio support allows you to listen to sounds from the camera, or pick up alarms alarms or calls for assistance meaning that if anything should happen you can still be made aware and take action.
