For surveillance recording, Y-cam cameras include the free Multi-live software which allows you to store footage from up to nine Y-cam cameras simultaneously back to a Microsoft Windows based PC or server. Alternatively the Y-cam SD cameras feature a Micro SD card slot which allows you to record footage without the need for any other devices to be online. This has the benefit of reducing costs as fewer devices need to be running while also providing increased reliability as the surveillance recording is not dependant on your network or computer.
The ability to place your Y-cam equipment outdoors is a great benefit when used with the Y-cam Shell outdoor enclosure. This allows you to easily monitor your yard, driveway or garden, including the use of the infrared capabilities of the Y-cam Knight and Black, without risk of damage to the camera.
The audio capability of the Y-cam cameras and the built-in microphone allow you to capture and record audio or listen from across the internet. This allows you to hear alarms or sirens and if necessary take appropriate action.
